ONLINE VOTING... from page 18.

Keep your Association sharp – in all seasons.

• Ballots are rigorously checked for validity before being accepted. • All administrator and voter activity are logged with timestamp and IP address in an Activity Log. Confidentiality It is impossible for election orga- nizers to determine how a partic- ular voter has voted as the results are anonymous. In New Jersey, the Radburn Law Regulations require ano- nymity for all ballots cast. When using traditional paper ballots, this means using a double envelope sys- tem. For managed online election platforms, this is often a built-in fea- ture. Additionally, third-party service providers offer a layer of separation between the voting process and the individuals involved. Ease of Use and Tabulation The entire process of voting takes only about a minute or two to com- plete and can be done according to the user’s schedule and is not dependent on location. Online voting removes the need for paper ballots, ballot return procedures, and transit issues. Since there are no data entry issues, real-time data is available as votes are being cast. Voter-Verified Audit Trail Once the electronic ballot has been cast, some platforms provide a print- able receipt to assure voters that their votes have been recorded as intended. Should an association opt to publish the final results, anyone will be able to download a file containing votes and receipt codes. This serves as a Voter
