2023 Annual Awards Nominees
Outstanding Young Professional of the Year Nominees
Michael Luzzi, CPIA, EBP: After joining CAI, I developed a renewed focus and purpose within the community association industry. Through CAI-NJ, much of my professional growth can be attributed to the education and resources provided, as well as the significant relationships I have developed. My participation over the last 4+ years has evolved from being an attendee/observer to being a guest lecturer as an industry subject matter expert, obtaining my Educated Business Partner distinction and becoming the Vice Chair of the CAI-NJ Business Partner Committee. With this foundation and with much passion and enthusiasm, I look forward to the continued growth in my professional career through CAI so that I may better serve community associations and their boards, as well as support my peers. I attended Caldwell University where I was a member of the men’s basketball team. I graduated in 2009 with a business degree. That same year, I obtained my property & casualty insurance
state license and began my insurance career with Prudential Financial. In 2011 I moved to a NJ local independent insurance broker providing insurance advice and coverage for personal lines and small businesses. In 2018, my agency was acquired by PeopleFirst P&C, a partner agency of Acrisure and I became a part to the community association insurance team. That year I obtained my CPIA - Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation from the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society. Currently I am responsible for growth in our New Jersey/Pennsylvania Community Association Division. I have been a guest lecturer and educator for several CAI chapters such as CAI-NJ, CAI NY, CAI PA and CAI SC, as well as for The Cooperator and other private companies. I joined CAI New Jersey in 2018. Over the last couple of years, In 2022 I obtained my Educated Business Partner distinction and attended both the CAI National Law Seminar and the CAI Annual Conference. I am currently serving on the Poconos Committee for CAI PA and as Vice Chair for the CAI-NJ Business Partners Committee. My goal is to obtain my CIRMS designation within the next two years.
Jose Romero: I feel like I deserve this award because after working extremely hard over the last year, ClearviewWashing andmyself are starting to reap the rewards. Since startingwithClearview Washing in 2020 my role has been to diligently work on building new relationships with a vast array of CAI members. Through emails, texts, phone calls, and CAI shows, I continually strive to make Clearview Washing a household name in the industry. Through the various networking events and conferences that CAI held I was able to slowly build relationships and contacts that all came to fruition this year! I have also been able to impact various other vendors and communities through referrals. I make sure that if someone has a need that is outside of my expertise I provide a quality referral that in many cases led to work for that vendor. By becoming extremely well known throughout the CAI community, I have had the pleasure of meeting and learning from different experts in their respective industries
Since I started with Clearview Washing in 2020 my main objective was to grow Clearview Washing’s name and reputation within the HOA Industry. I can proudly say that so far it has been, and continues to be, a success. Since I started with Clearview Washing two years ago, we have grown our company’s gross by almost 100%. The majority of that growth came from new community clients I consulted with over the last two years. I have also helped implement processes and systems that will allow Clearview to handle the large increase in volume we plan on achieving in the upcoming years. Besides impacting Clearview, I have also been able to have a positive impact within CAI-NJ! I joined the F.A.S.T. Committee late in 2020 and have since made an effort to continue as much as I can to add value to that group within CAI through their various philanthropic efforts for Make-A-Wish New Jersey, Interfaith Neighbors and several other charitable organizations. I also am involved in other charitable organizatins in NY, through CAI Keystone and CAI SC, as well as for The Cooperator and other private companies.
