Robert N. Roop, P.E. Lockatong Engineering Coping Here’s what Lockatong Engineering is doing to

In the beginning of this quarantine, I was having a difficult time separating

work from home life. Since I was working from home, I felt that I should be in front of my computer 24/7. Also, potato chips seemed to never taste so good and I started to see my wardrobe slipping away from me. As such, I decided to make mental health breaks a priority. I dug out my old fit bit and set a step count goal for myself each day. Each day, my wife and son take as many walks as necessary to reach our daily step count goal. So far, our highest is 13,000!

serve our clients… Everyone is working remotely — We had practice after Sandy and now it’s easy! Reports and Work Product • On-site work, including inspections and construction monitoring are continuing with PPE and distance. • We have offered our limited PPE, gloves and suits to the state on the hotline. • One hospital client asked us how many more ventilators their medical oxygen system and piping could sup- port. We knew their system and had an answer. • Everyone we meet are super support- ive and friendly. remotely at home, so the most chal- lenging part for me is finding ways to keep my mind off the refrigerator that is so conveniently within reach! I start my morning with a cup of coffee, while not the healthiest option, it does help stave off hunger. Then I save breakfast for a time closer to mid-morning so that by the time I’m ravenous, it’s still my first meal. Follow that with a healthy lunch that I eat sporadically between emails and calls from my properties instead of in one sitting, and it holds me over until dinner. Michael Ryan Adamas Building Services

Personally, and professionally, we have looked at all aspects of how we provide staffing services to protect our staff and the resi- dents that we service on a day to day basis. With rapidly evolving

COVID-19 developments, we understand that it is a difficult time for community associations. We are taking each day and attempting to be proactive and com- municate with the management, the association and staff. We have increased communication, via email, text, calls, and have tried to Zoom meetings when needed to cover all sites and needs. Our teams were deemed essential employees, so step one, was a necessity to get our staff to the workplace by providing Uber, updated mass transit schedules, adjusting schedules, to perform our duties, such as front desk, security, maintenance, and janitorial. Adamas has looked at every aspect of our operation, protocols and procedures, as well as the communication of how our leadership disseminates this information, or changes to this information to our people, to management, and to the residents. It has all changed rapidly and is under the microscope. On a personal note, I am enjoying playing more board games with my daughters, I have embraced not wearing a tie as much, and I am contemplating learning how to cut my own hair via you-tube, so I am adjusting personally and professionally to the changes we are facing.

Reliable plumbing is essential during a global pandemic. SageWater responded by implementing process changes to

ensure the safety of our crews and all the residents of the communities we serve. By enhancing our use of personal protective equipment, performing daily health screenings, and improving our daily cleaning processes, we have proactively taken steps to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 on our jobsites. That’s not just simply smarter pipe replacement, but simply safer pipe replacement too!
