(3) provide written notice to any collective bargaining representative of the affected service employees of the decision to terminate the service contract, enter into a new service contract, or sell or transfer the property; (4) ensure that written notice to all affected service employees describing the pending termination of the service contract, entrance into a service contract, or sale or transfer of the property, including the name and address of the awardee, purchaser, or transferee, and the employees’ rights provided by this section, are conspicuously posted at any affected work site; and (5) provide the affected service employees and their col lective bargaining representative with the name and address of any successor employer or the purchaser or transferee of the property.” Once the notices are sent by the association and the vendor, the employee must then be retained for 60 days and can only be terminated for cause. There are certain

of the legislatures and encourage their attendance. The representatives are more likely to recognize a room full of people versus one or two from the community. Stay informed. Community Association Institute (CAI), the New Jersey chapter, and their Legislative Action Committee (NJ-LAC) do a fantastic job of sending out updates on pending legislation and the work they are all putting in. Read those updates and share them with your boards so they see all the work being done on their behalf. Attend the NJ-LAC roundtables and webinars to stay up to date. Watch for a Call-to-Action notice from CAI-NJ and NJ-LAC. When you receive those Call-to-Actions, act upon them. Take a few minutes to contact your legislature; send it to your board and community and ask them to act. When one begins to multiply and a group of interested individuals work towards a common goal, it is amazing to see how easily change can occur. n
