The research on this issue is still in the very early stages, and as such, many of the solutions have been on a “trial and error” approach. Nonetheless, many people have found success by implementing the following: • Consolidating meetings whenever possible (and not always reverting to a meeting). While Facetime can be great in the virtual environment, it is important to remem ber that not everything has to be done over a virtual call. If something can be easily accomplished through email, a virtual meeting may not be necessary. Finding a balance between the two is essential. • Limiting your attendee list. When setting up virtual meetings, a common pitfall is to include more people than needed. Restricting the attendee list to only those who truly need to be there will help promote an efficient meeting that stays on task. Furthermore, it helps reduce the amount of time that individuals are sitting in meetings each day. • Limit the length of meetings. Maintaining focus during a 2-hour virtual meeting can be a challenge. If there

Likely culprits include lack of mobility during meetings, constantly being on video and feeling “watched”, long hours of staring at screens, and multitask
