Women are accepting of learning curves and take time to fully know their role before expecting to excel to the next level in their company. They are less apt to fast-track their careers and are welcoming of constructive criticism Overall, just because 62% of professional community managers are women, does not mean that all of those women are treated the same as men, and it does not mean that the disparate treatment of gender presence in the same roles does not exist. These statistics do not mean that the conversation of gender equality or equality for any one is over. It certainly doesn’t mean that women should not continue to assert themselves and, for lack of a better word, fight, to be heard for their thoughts, opinions, and expertise. Our industry will only grow with recognition, resilience, and response to each other’s powerful journeys along the way. n
