To obtain a Community Manager Certified Association (CMCA), you typically need to follow these steps: 1. Eligibility: Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements set forth by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB), which administers the CMCA certification. a. This can be completing and passing one pre-requisite course on community association management (typically the M-100), or; b. Experience – if an individual has more than 5 years of experience as a community association manager, they may receive a one-time waiver of the prerequisite course. However, the experience must be as a commu nity ​association manager, not an assistant manager. 2. Apply: Complete and submit the online application for the CMCA examination.
