Air purifiers and dehumidifiers are also eligible for instant in-store rebates. Other New Jersey Clean Energy programs offer assistance for the pur chase of electric vehicles and for the installation of private electric vehicle charging stations, but they are not offered through the electric utilities. Check the Clean Energy Program website https://njcleanenergy.com for all the programs. Both common interest community residents and asso ciations are eligible for certain electric vehicle incentive programs. These programs will encourage many consumers to upgrade their appliances and save on electric bills. JCP&L, at the 2021 introduction of its program, estimated the avoided generation over 3 years would be 480,000-megawatt hours of electrici ty. That is the equivalent of the electric consumption of 60,000 New Jersey homes. The avoided production of greenhouse gases is the equivalent of eliminating 24,000 passenger cars. The NJ Energy Master Plan is aggressive. It is New Jersey’s blueprint for achieving 100% clean energy by 2050. A big part of it is electric con sumption reduction without any loss of comfort, convenience, or compromise in living standards. n
