With confidence in the building’s safety restored, Aladdin can turn its focus to other endeavors. “I think it is important to foster team spirit and engagement in our community,” Mark said. After a successful Christmas in July party, he and the association are hoping to host more events that encourage the neighborhood to take the time to share food, get to know each other, and maintain a strong sense of community. Overall, whether it be managing a special assessment or leading the charge to change property managers, commu nity association board members can look back and learn from every challenge. Looking ahead, as we welcome a New Year, the Community Associations Institute of New Jersey encourages members to take advantage of the countless educational resources it makes available to help boards navigate common community situations.
