N ew Jersey has always been on the cutting edge of policy, education and law as it pertains to community associations. Being one of the larg- est chapters of Community Associations Institute (CAI)_ in the United States also provides a forum for all members to commiserate with other members, seek common ground,

better place when we leave than when we arrived. CA-PAC’s main obligation is to raise monies to allow our message to resonate in Trenton. The “messages” we deliv- er to Trenton is generally done so through our professional lobbyist team, MBI GluckShaw. Additionally, many mem- bers of the CAI-NJ chapters Legislative Action Committee are regular contributors in Trenton providing testimony on the many legislative bills CAI either espouses or opposes. Who better to deliver the message to Trenton about the potential effects of proposed law than the preeminent com- munity education organization in the United States? With the assistance of our lobbyists, NJ-LAC members deliver many articles and position papers supporting CAI- NJ ideals. Additionally, there are the many fundraisers that legislators host where our members attend in order have CAI better known in political circles, and which provides CAI-NJ a personal forum to promote its ideals. All of these efforts require funding and that is what CA-PAC has been established to do. CA-PAC has a number of fundraisers that also provide time for all CAI-NJ members to have fun. This includes the Top Golf event in Edison that has become an annual outing the last couple of years, and the long-running Day at the

While membership has its perks, it also has it obligations. That is, do our best to further the CAI family and like our own families, leave it in a
