member, I don’t want to be surprised by new laws that could adversely affect my community. Having a fiduciary respon- sibility to my community demands that I keep my eyes and ears open to what could legally impact our residents as a result of state legislation. As a board member, I share legislative news with the other board members, our com- munity manager, and our association’s attorney so that we can be proactive in response to a new law or proposed bill that has a good chance of passing. As stewards of our condominium association, the board members work closely throughout the year with our association’s law firm to address issues that require expert legal advice. By having an open communication channel to our attorney, the board members feel confident that the asso- ciation will be well-served. n
