READ PLANS... from page 21.
How can this benefit the property manager, board member and the project? For a property manager, the ability to read basic plans can greatly ben- efit your project. When meeting with an engineer during the pre-construc- tion and construction phases are held, managers who possess this important skill will be able to understand what is happening and what will happen moving forward. A community association board may also benefit from having extra copies of original construction plans developed and used as a base for future reno- vations or other construction activities. These maps provide future value to plan onsite events. They can also be a great asset for development projects such as adding more parking spaces, a new clubhouse and/or other amenities. These base plans can also be used for other purposes and activities throughout the community. Being able to read the basics of project plans will allow the property manager to quickly gain familiarity with the community and be able to answer questions from the board with greater confidence. The quicker they know the scope of a project, the quicker and more efficiently problems within the community can be identi- fied and solved. n
