(Pointing with hands). • Thank you for reporting there’s sand in the pool? Really? • Yes, the COVID rules for the pool are the same as your hometown. Still the same state. We have a local saying when folks come across the bridge,“Yes,we have rules here”. Seems people forget all rules and laws apply even on vaca- tion. Maybe the screaming kids on the way down didn’t help. Are we there yet? Take that and factor in last year’s and ongoing COVID -19 restric- tions and the limited amount (virtually none) of seasonal staff available, mandatory minimum wages, and hir- ing competition between hotels, and motels, and all other businesses; Also, add the hundreds of thousands of people flocking to the shore and stay- ing at their property without a care in the world other than to do what they want. Does anyone want to change jobs for the summer? We look at it as 3-4 months of hard work. We use the other months to get ready for the summer season. Truth be told seasonal help is the hardest aspect of it all. The next time you see a resort property manager, give them a hug. Check that, a fist bump. Forgot, it’s COVID . Be safe, Peace! n
