Talent Drain The theory of six degrees of sep- aration could have been the thesis behind Mark Zuckerberg’s business plan. How do we debunk this myth and create 5, 4, 3… degrees of separation? The internet and social media age are a tool to promote and acknowledge one’s accomplishments. I remember reading about a property manager I had never met previously recognized for their various internal achievements. So, it came as a sur- prise to me when they decided that property management was no longer a field of interest. Whether it was greenbacks, burnout, or something else, another industry pulled talent from the property manager into anoth- er area of interest. It is so important for management companies to invest in their people to see a growth in knowledge. The phrase investing in your people and you are sowing the seeds for a successful business. While all property managers, for the most part, have to be congenial, managing a condominium associ- ation has its own dynamic. While managing the other space markets, there will be meetings of some sort, like reporting to an asset manager, answering questions, concerns, bud- gets, etc. Unlike managing the other space markets, a property manager in a condominium associaiton is in constant contact with equity owners of the real estate space.
