Obviously, a community association needs to have a policy written with an insurance carrier which allows short-term rentals, because if the policy does not, or if there are exclusions or specific limitations in the policy, then the community association may not be covered. Currently, it is very rare to have a specific exclusion in a policy which flat out states that claims relating to Airbnb and/or short-term rentals are exclud- ed from coverage.
