we charge toward our $100,000.00 goal in cumulative donations for Make A-Wish ® New Jersey this year! The CAI-NJ Kickball Tournament is the next opportunity to raise funds for Make-A-Wish ® New Jersey on Thursday, September 26th, so please submit your registrations and come out for a great day of sportsmanship and fun for an amazing cause! Finally, as a friendly reminder, compliance with the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) is still required by the end of this year. The Community Associations Institute ® continues to pursue legislative and legal avenues to postpone and overturn this law, but at the present time, those efforts are still ongoing. CAI recently filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Treasury regarding the CTA, but that case will take some time to adjudicate. As such, associations and management companies are urged to plan for compliance before the end of 2024 to avoid violations of the Act, as noncompliance comes with significant civil and criminal penalties. CAI-NJ will provide updates if any additional infor mation becomes available regarding the CTA and CAI’s efforts on behalf of all community associations in the country. That’s it from me for this month’s issue. Until next time, thank you for being a valued member of CAI-NJ and stay cool! n
