Denise and I knew each other over my years in the industry, but I really got to know her when we were both on the board. Denise gave over 30 years to our chapter and impacted so many people. She encouraged so many people to further their knowledge in

the industry, go for their designations, she was a true advocate of CAI! She was a devoted employee, friend, boss, mother, wife, and grandmother, only to name a few of her many titles! I have had many memories with Denise while we were on the board and were able to travel to a few national shows together, but the one thing I tell everyone is that it is because of Denise, I am serving as your President today. When I was on the board as a member-at-large, Denise was the one who pushed me to put in for

to so many, myself included. Denise was one of a kind. Her gentle smile, laugh, and personality made you instantly want to be friends with her.

the Executive Committee. I will never forget I was sitting in a parking lot waiting to go into a CAI event, and Denise called. I was skeptical to put my name in for the EC, but she made me feel different. She made me feel appreciated, trusted, and said that I have earned this. She had a way with words and made me believe in myself. She was always an ear to lis ten, and never made any judgements. When I have had to make some tough decisions this past year, I would think of Denise and ask myself, how would Denise handle it? She never got flustered and always put the best interest of the chapter first. She is someone I will always admire and never forget. Thank you, Denise, for making such an impact on my life. n
