Hire an EPA accredited Asbestos Building Inspector to conduct a survey including collecting bulk samples of suspect ACBM. Results of the survey establish a baseline of useful information for future build ing management decisions. 2. Establish an Operations and Maint- enance (O & M) program (it can be modeled after AHERA mandated programs for schools). This estab lishes your written policies and pro cedures for managing asbestos and should include regular inspections to

monitor the condition of known or suspect ACBM. This is best prepared by a qualified Asbestos Consultant who is familiar with O&M Programs. 3. If you suspect that an asbestos fiber release incident took place, imme diately: a. Seal off the impacted area b. Shut down all heating and cool ing in the impacted area

c. Do NOT have suspect ACBM debris cleaned by anyone not fully trained and certified d. Contact a qualified Asbestos Consultant to evaluate the sit uation and issue recommen dations for a proper and safe response. n
