My first bit of advice I’d give my younger self is to always attend all training courses available through your company, emergency management, and CAI. The second is also to ensure you have a change of shoes available which are waterproof and comfortable. Emergencies can happen at any time and it is

I would tell myself to really focus on the positives: the people helped, the prob lems solved, and the fact that as community managers, we are responsible for helping residents deal with their home, which is often one of their most important assets. As a result, tensions can run high and you can get bogged down in neg ativity. If you find yourself getting too cynical, it helps to focus on the big picture to put everything in perspective. Oh, if you like snow, enjoy it now because you’ll hate it before you know it. n
